This loop is the premier destination loop in District 10. It is likely a 2 day or perhaps a 3 day trip depending on what you want see on the loop.
After leaving the Info Center you would travel north on TOP C towards Britt. Britt is approximately 114 km on TOP C. If you want you could take Alternate C into Parry Sound and rejoin TOP C north of Parry Sound. Alternate C will take you through Aprry Sound and you will have the opportunity of taking the taril along Georgian Bay and through the center of Town.
Once back on TOP C you will hav ethe opportunity to enjoy a trail meandering thorugh forest bush and some challenging hills. You can stop in Britt at ????? to enjoy a meal and get some fuel or carry on to TOP C105D. It is advisable to get fuel at one of the gas stations along the trail before you get to C105D. TOP C105D in District 11 is 20 km north of Britt.
If you have some time a side trip north along TOPC to see and travel over the suspension bridges at the Pickerel and French Rivers maybe something you would like to see and do.
These bridges when built made snowmobiling safer and cost well over $1 million dollars! Round back to C105D trip is about 40 km.
Head east along C105D through logging roads and lakes and forest will bring you to the Villages Loring and Port Loring.
By this time you maybe thinking that you have had enough sledding for the day and would be a great time to check out some of the local resorts. Toronados is along the way and ?????
Perhaps you want to get a meal first Jakes and Roxies Diner is located in Port Loring. You can fuel at Buchanans Hardware.
After a restful night and hearty breakfast you would head again along C105D and after a few kilometres you would be heading south towards Wahwahkesh Lake and Ardbeg. This trail will lead you through some of the Port Loring deer yards and the potential to see deer on the trail is good. Just be careful chances are good that you will see a deer right on the trail.
At the intersection of C105D and D102C you will take D102C south and travel through hardwood bush and evergreens. At one point you will entering the Barrens where there was a forest fire many years ago and the forest has yet to regenerate.
After the Barrens the next intersection will be CSR Trail 600 (The Lake Trail) . You can either take the Lake Trail for a quicker ride to Ardbeg or it is recommended that you take D102C (The Land Trail) to Ardbeg. On the land trail you will see large old growth pine, wetland areas and the potential to see wild life is pretty good.
Washrooms are located at the intersection of D102C and 600 and at the Magnetawan Bridge.
The Magnetawan Bridge is a must see where the Magnetawan River tumbles through the rapids to the east of the bridge.
The trail will turn into hardwood forest for a great ride through the bush, wetland areas and along a summer road.
At TOP C104D you will turn east and head into Ardbeg where you can gas up and get a good meal at Loggers Station House Restaurant. It is approximately 65 km from Port Loring to Ardbeg.
Travelling on towards Dunchurch on C104D. C104D meets the Snakeskin trail CSR 603 and you can either take the Lake or carry on across C104D. C104D at this point is a logging road and is quite a nice ride to the eastern junction of CSR 603 and C104D.
C104D from Snakeskin to the junction of CSR602/DASR805 is a nice trail to take your time on as it is hilly with many sharp turns.
At the junction of CSR602/DASR805 you can take 602 and meet C104D on the far side of Whitestone Lake or just follow C104D on into Dunchurch. If you take 602 you can plan to stop at Whitestone Lake Resort to fuel up or have lunch or a coffee. Just follow CSR 605 trail on the lake to the north end of the lake and you will see the Resort on the north shore.
Once in Dunchurch you can get regular or premium gas and eat at the restaurant located at the Duck Rock Resort if you bypassed Whitestone Lake Resort. It is advisable to get fuel at one of these locations.
On Leaving Dunchurch there will be a bit of road travel however once back to the trail you will be in forest and lake travel. The next stop will be in Ahmic Harbour where you can gas up at Guitar Pickers Corner and have bite to eat if you didn’t get something earlier at the Corner or go across the street to the Harbour Tavern.
The next leg of the loop will have you cross Ahmic Lake. Some sledders call this Piston Alley but it is also a nice ride down the lake checking out the shoreline for wild life and the cottages that line the shore.
Once leaving the lake, there will be a summer road to follow and bit of road till you get to the Village Magnetawan. Going through the Village you will see Ridgerunners Trail 711 follow the signs and soon you will be back on a forested trail that will see going through mixed forest and a hardwood forests. Wildlife sighting will be pretty good all the way down 711. At a certain point you will come to Trail 704.
Take 704 and you will travel through a wetland area and a cedar and evergreen forest. This is quite a nice ride along this little trail.
You will end up a the junction of 704 and C103D ( The Sequin) . At this point you can travel the short distance into Sprucedale for fuel and a coffee or turn right (east) to head back to your trailer at the Info Center on The Sequin. A distance of approximately 43 km.
Give or take, this loop is over 400 km and you may want to plan a weekend or a few days to complete this scenic loop.
