Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs District 10 is just a short 2-hour drive from the GTA and is a popular summer destination.
Fondly known as “Cottage Country” or “Muskoka” or “Georgian Bay”, when you’re here in blackfly season you know why they also call our bugs “The Northern Ontario Air Force”. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of loving our back-yard in the summer, you HAVE to come back and explore when the bugs are GONE!
From craggy shorelines that are but a memory, to wild-wood forests and the ever present Great Canadian Shield, there are places here that you just can’t get to in other seasons! Maybe you couldn’t cross that beaver flood, maybe the woods were too dense and thick with bugs. With the snow comes a whole new opportunity and it doesn’t hurt to pay homage to those pesky critters while you enjoy the crisp and clean bug free air that only wintertime brings.
To start the 2013/14 snowmobile season, the folks at District 10 are presenting you with many an opportunity to get outside and enjoy Cottage Country in a whole new way!
Remember to bring a camera; some of the views are so majestic they will take your breath away!
(Don’t worry, not in a mouthful of black flies kind of way though).
